Think For The Life You Love

Tuesday // July 8 // 2014

When I was in University my best friend would always say, “Dress for the job you want.” Well I was living in America and the job that I wanted was in Australia. Wearing converse and a swimsuit was, still is, how I felt comfortable but I knew what she meant. If I embodied the energy of what I want in my current situation, I would bring what I wanted into my life.

Doing this subconsciously or not, I was listening to Australian music because it filled me with excitement and I felt like I was already there. I was wearing things that I would wear there, and I started to meet Australians wherever I went. I was transforming how I was within my current experience and it created Australia right before my eyes. While this was all happening, I was very present in my current situation. I loved living in California and prepping my current experience for what I wanted in the future made me think and feel like I was already there. This continued to bring in Australians and opportunities in Australia, because the energy that you attract doesn’t distinguish where your actual location is, it attracts based on the energy you put out.

I love the concept of dressing for the job you want, but let’s take it further. Let’s think for the life we love. Embody the thoughts that you would have while you’re doing what you love or living the life that you want to attract that towards you. You can do this by opening up your awareness. Sometimes we get caught up in our current circumstances to the point that it’s hard to see beyond them or make space to think about what we actually want. If you want positive, loving experiences to come in, bring positivity and love to your thoughts. Bring your thoughts to believe that you are already experiencing what you want, regardless of what your external world looks like.

Once you know what it is that you want, let it go a bit. When we want something, we feel like we need to constantly be working, grinding and searching. After we get clear on what we want and ask for it, we can then move forward and do things that make us think and feel similar thoughts and feelings to what we would experience when we are where we want to be.

Open up to positive thoughts while knowing that you don’t need to pretend that the job, the relationship or the experience that you want to have is there. You especially don’t want to do that because you want this to feel as genuine and real as possible. I remember when I first read about the law of attraction,  I would literally try and pretend that something was physically there already and it wasn’t. It was a mess and felt controlling. Think about what kind of thoughts you would have when what you want comes in. Are they positive? Loving? Inspiring? Bring those thoughts into your current situation to bring that energy of what you want into your life.
